About Me

I’m Alex Olmucci Poddubnyy, a Senior Artificial Intelligence Software Engineer at NVIDIA.

My work primarily consists in accelerating and deploying start-of-the art Large Language Models on NVIDIA Inference Microservices.

Previously, I have also worked in the Recommender Systems field, optimizing (accelerating) the implementations of cutting-edge Deep Learning Models, and in Computer Vision field, focusing on applying few-shot classification and active learning techniques to address NSFW content filtering.

My educational background includes a Master’s Degree in Artificial Intelligence earned at the University of Bologna, where my thesis explored the use of “Graph Neural Networks for Recommender Systems”, with the aim of spotting and characterizing possible performance bottlenecks, that appear when running this family of models on multi-GPU, variable precision scenario.

Prior to starting my Master’s Degree, I spent 6 months as a Research Engineer intern at Datalogic. In this role, I contributed to enhancing the existing industrial OCR system by leveraging both Deep Learning and classical Image Processing techniques.

Finally, I obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science at the same university, with a thesis in Deep Learning titled “Investigating Single Translation Function CycleGANs”.
